What Type of Treatments is there for Drug Induced Hair Loss?

There are many medicines which cause temporary or permanent hair loss and this condition is known as drug induced hair loss. The type of hair loss mainly depends upon the type of drugs, its dosage and on the individual predisposition.

There are mainly two types of hair fall possibility in this condition which include Anagen Effluvium and Telogen Effluvium. Drug induced hair loss is generally reversible after the interruption of the treatment. While deciding the type of treatment for drug induced hair loss, you must know how much hair loss you are having. Various options of treatments include medications, surgery, grooming techniques, hairpieces and wigs. In mild cases of hair loss, styling can be done to cover the area of hair loss.  For severe cases of hair loss, hairpieces and wigs can also be used to give good results.

If styling and wigs are not satisfactory then combination of medication and surgery can also be used. The success ration of the surgery and medication differs from person to person. Various prescriptions are also available for treating this condition.  Moreover the person should also talk to their doctor about the offending medicine which is causing the hair loss so that an alternative medication can be used.
