What are the Symptoms of Seborrheic Dermatitis? |
A skin disorder which results in flaking on the scalp and face is termed as seborrheic dermatitis. This disease is common among HIV and epilepsy patients. It might also occur due to vitamin B deficiency. Seborrheic dermatitis is mostly seen in adults and infants who have oily skins. Hormonal changes, Poor diet, acne, use of cosmetics, illness and stress are the other causes of seborrheic dermatitis. Some studies also show that seborrheic dermatitis has a genetic link that tends to run in families. In most cases, seborrheic dermatitis is mistaken as flakes of dandruff. Generally men are more likely to be affected by this skin disorder. Yeast Malassezia furfur is considered to be the main cause of this dermatitis disorder.
