What is the Ludwig Scale for Hair Loss?

Hair loss has become common problem these days. The Ludwig scale help you find out the reasons for the hair loss and also give you a pictorial description of the pattern of hair loss in case of both men and woman.

The scale is used to help doctors understand what the reason for hair loss and assist them in finding an effective treatment; also help the patient understand what exactly is happening. The Ludwig scale gives you a nine set picture of the hair loss pattern. The images are arranged in three rows and three columns. The each image signifies the amount of hair loss took place and accordingly the scalp area without hair is shown. Each image shows different patterns of hair loss. The first picture where the hair is parted in the middle doesn’t show much of a hair loss; with subsequent images you can observe that the hair loss becomes significant.

In The seventh picture you can see the scalp completely naked where the hair loss is at the maximum. While in the eighth image you would find that there is absolutely no hair on the frontal head but hair continues to grow on the sides. In the ninth image you would observe that there is frontal thinning of the hair. Ludwig scale actually illustrates the degree of hair loss with each subsequent frame.
