Why Does Male Pattern Baldness Happen?

A combination environmental and genetic factor is the main reason for male pattern baldness. We can classify the causes for male pattern baldness as genetic and hormone type. Follicle starvation is main reason for baldness and due to certain deficiency in nutrients like zinc, iron, magnesium, vitamin B6, copper, and biotin may also cause male pattern baldness.

The hair follicles of a man who suffers from androgenetic alopecia appeared to be genetically predisposed to be more susceptible to the destructive consequences of dihydrotestosterone and testosterone. The genetic weakness makes it possible for the dihydrotestosterone to limit hair growth easily and completely on the scalp. There is a thought that the weakness of hair follicle is communicated through DNA from one generation to next generation.

Some researchers found out that this male pattern baldness is caused by some particular androgen called DHT.  The dihydrotestosterone and testosterone are the two important hormones for hair growth cycle. The major part in male pattern baldness is played by DHT which is a derivative of testosterone. You can get rid of this male pattern baldness through some treatments.
